1. Important veterinary disclaimer

SmartPaws AI is an informational and educational tool. It is not veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The AI-generated fitness scores, meal suggestions, walk targets, food scans, and any other output are estimates based on photos and information you provide, and can be wrong.

Always consult a qualified, licensed veterinarian before changing your dog's diet, exercise routine, medication, or care plan, and immediately if your dog shows any signs of illness, injury, distress, weight loss, or behavioural change. Never delay seeking veterinary care because of something you read in SmartPaws AI. In an emergency, contact your local vet or an emergency veterinary service.

SmartPaws AI does not detect medical conditions. Body-condition estimates from photos are approximate and can misjudge weight, breed, age, coat, injuries, and underlying disease.

2. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using SmartPaws AI (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use SmartPaws AI.

3. Your account & responsibilities

• You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide about your dog.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
• You must only upload photos of animals you own or have permission to photograph.
• You must not use the Service to harass, harm, or endanger any animal or person.
• You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, resell, scrape, or abuse the Service or its AI outputs.

4. Subscriptions & payments

Premium is billed at £3.99 per month, or £40 as a one-off payment for 12 months, via Stripe and renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your Profile → Manage billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial periods except where required by law.

Prices, features, and free-tier limits may change with reasonable notice. Taxes may apply based on your location.

5. AI content & accuracy

Outputs are generated by machine-learning models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your dog. You must exercise your own judgement and consult a vet before acting on any output. SmartPaws AI makes no warranty that outputs are correct, safe, or fit for any particular purpose.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SmartPaws AI, its owners, employees, and suppliers are not liablefor any injury, illness, death, loss, or damage to any animal, person, or property arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service or its outputs. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid SmartPaws AI in the 3 months before the claim, or (b) £10.

7. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold SmartPaws AI harmless from any claim arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or harm caused to a third party or animal by your actions or reliance on Service outputs.

8. Content you upload

You keep ownership of photos and content you upload. You grant SmartPaws AI a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display that content solely to operate and improve the Service for you. We do not sell your photos.

9. Privacy

We collect the account information you provide (email, dog profile), the content you upload (photos, walk logs, meals), and basic technical data (device, IP, usage) to run the Service. We use trusted processors including our hosting/database provider, Stripe (payments), and AI model providers to analyse your photos. We do not sell personal data.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing the contact below. We retain data only as long as needed to provide the Service or comply with legal obligations.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service. You may delete your account at any time from Profile.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.
